Anniversary

May 20, 1994

May 20, 2008
Wow...14 years and I can still hoist myself up on Trents lap...barely! I remember the days when I was younger and thinner, I would ride on Trents lap quite often when we were at BYU. That is..until we burned out two motors, (still under warranty. Phew!) I am sure the motor manufacturers are still perplexed on how two motors burned out in such a short amount
of time. Huh...who knows? heh heh No more rides after that.

I am in shock that we have been married for 14 years! I still feel like I am 20 years old most of the time. I am a wife, and a mother of two boys. How did that happen? (well we know how that happened, it is still hard to believe sometimes). As I look back over these past 14 years, I am amazed at all the things we have gone through. I have learned so much being married to Trent. It is hard to describe the many things that he has taught me by just how he lives his life every day. I have never met another person, that I respect and admire more than him. And how cool is that, that I am married to the person that I admire so much? I consider myself blessed. Not only am I in love with Trent, I am in "like" with him too. I really enjoy hanging out with him. There are few people that I would rather spend my time with. Being married to Trent has made me a better person. I am one lucky gal that he chose to marry me and put up with me and love me for who I am. It's wonderful to know that he loves me no matter what, through thick and thin. (literally!).

On our wedding day, I composed a song (with some help from two dear friends) for Trent that I surprised him with and sang to him at our reception. I decided today, that since I don't have this song written down anywhere, that I would wrack my brain and remember it and record it before I can't remember it anymore. So here it is. More for my sake than any of yours. Happy Anniversary Trent. Here's to 14 more!

Lyrics

There was a time when, I didn't know, what I wanted life to be.

With you beside me, here hand in hand, I can see eternity.

(Chorus)

Together we will start our journey, that will lead us home.

Through Father's help and love unfeigned, we'll never be alone.

The world around me brings no peace, but it is within you.

His peace will tell us what we should do.

Here we are. Together. Our hearts are now as one.

The time is now, to start anew.

Our life has just begun.

When I look into your eyes, I can see who you are.

A noble nature from our Father is there within your heart.

(Chorus)

Aw shucks. Thanks guys. I was a little nervous to put it on there I have to say. I am glad that I did though. I was having a hard time remembering it. Yikes! That would have been sad. Thanks for the kind words.

I feel like I'm a little late to the meeting of the Kristi Fan Club, but still wanted to add my oohs and aahs to the rest. It was beautiful, simply beautiful. Way to go for writing the song in the first place and recording it for friends (and posterity) in the second place! That's something I think about doing but I freeze up because it would need to be PERFECT and who has the time for that?

Anyway, congratulations on 14 big ones! That's a lot of one-day-at-a-times that you're stockpiling to eternity!

Love you.

Good to have ya "Daisy". When Trent was a Jr. in Highschool he tackeled someone in a football game and broke his neck right then and there. The helicopter flew in and landed on the field and everything. I didn't know him then, but I hear many stories. It always amazes me how we'll be in out and about and people will come up to him and tell him how he has been an inspiration and how they have followed his stories. It was a big deal all over the news. Community fund raised to buy him a van. etc. That is why he moved back. He wants to give back to the community that gave so much to him. Wow..I could go on and on. Guess I could have given you the short answer. Broke his neck while playing highschool football. :)
